Something the Hardstyle world thought it would never see again is finally happening. Project One — the legendary duo formed by Headhunterz and Wildstylez — is set to make a spectacular return to the stage on January 3, 2026, in Den Bosch, Netherlands. The comeback arrives just months after Headhunterz’ symbolic reappearance during Defqon.1 2025, sending shockwaves through the scene.

A comeback that sent chills through the Hardstyle community

The reveal came during the Vroeger Was Alles Beter event on October 25, when a mysterious video played on the screens. It featured some of the genre’s biggest names reflecting on the bond between Headhunterz and Wildstylez. Then came the punchline: “What once was, will be once more.” The teaser ended with a date — January 3, 2026 — and a call to action: “Mark the date.” QR codes hidden throughout the venue led to a secret registration page, and within minutes, the internet was ablaze with speculation.

Just a few days later, the official announcement confirmed it all: “Vroeger Was Alles Beter presents Project One” — a one-time-only event celebrating the rebirth of one of Hardstyle’s most iconic collaborations.

From studio experiment to Hardstyle mythology

Back in 2008, Headhunterz and Wildstylez joined forces in what started as an unplanned studio project. The result was the self-titled Project One album, which quickly became a cornerstone of modern Hardstyle — praised for its emotional melodies, flawless production, and timeless energy.

Their last joint performance took place in 2019, and since then, Project One had become a near-mythical name. For many fans, the dream of seeing them together again had long faded — until now.

Headhunterz’ personal journey adds another layer of meaning to the announcement. After stepping away from touring in 2023 with an emotional farewell show in Tilburg, his sudden silent appearance at Defqon.1 2025 already hinted at unfinished business. That appearance now feels like the calm before the storm. “This is not the end. It’s the turning of a page,” Headhunterz said back in 2023. With Project One’s return, that new chapter seems ready to be written.

A lineup that honors Hardstyle history

The event will not only feature Project One’s reunion show but also an all-star cast celebrating the golden age of Hardstyle: Atmozfears, Bioweapon, Max Enforcer, Noisecontrollers, Pavo, Sound Rush (live), TNT pres. Time Machine, Wildstylez (solo), Zany (live), and MC Villain as the host.

To build anticipation, Vroeger Was Alles Beter will release a special documentary diving deep into the story of Project One — from its creation to its lasting impact — including unseen footage and interviews from within the scene.

Ticket registration opens October 30 at 19:00 exclusively via projectone.vwab.nl.

Whether this marks a new musical era or a single night of nostalgia remains to be seen. What’s certain is that on January 3, 2026, Hardstyle history will be made once again.
